I think they just have the equipment to make these because of the curved screen TV craze that never came. That ended 4-5 years ago though. Bedroom TVs are different, you can put them a bit higher and still have a comfortable viewing position. Often with led TVs you’re going to end up with a washed out picture if you do that, though, as they often have poor viewing angles. And it can still be too high.
